 The Flag:

The law "On the state flag of the Republic of Armenia" was adopted on August 24, 1990, by the supreme Council of Armenia.

The state flag is identical in size and colors to the state flag of the First Armenian Republic (1918-1920). The color red symbolizes the blood shed by the Armenian people, the color blue symbolizes the clear sky of Armenia, and the color orange symbolizes the fruitfulness of the Armenian nation.

Population: 3.7 Million (as of 1996), some estimate one million less (in 2003).
Capital city: Yerevan, population 1.25 million (as of 1996)
Territory: 29,740 square kilometers
Highest mountain peak:   Aragatz (4090 meters)
