Gifts In Kind/Humanitarian Aid

“Gifts in Kind” (GIK) are donations of new or gently used items made by individuals or corporations that are shipped to aid the needy in Armenia. Donors are encouraged to give non-perishable foods, and hygienic items: soap, toothpaste, etc.; school supplies for our school children; furniture for our Housing Project, clothing for adults and children; new shoes for adults and children, medicines with expiration dates no earlier than 2 years from date of donation.

GIK donations are welcome to be dropped off at our Pasadena office only if scheduled. Contact our office to schedule a donation. Please, no used clothing, shoes or mattresses are allowed through Armenian Customs at this time. You will receive a tax-deductible receipt for your donation. Please call our office for details.

• Approximately $23 million of goods already shipped to Armenia.

• ARDA feeds 50,000 families throughout Armenia by giving to Soup Kitchens, Homes for Elderly, the children in our 14 schools, and Angel’s Home Health patients.

• We have sent over 100 containers to Armenia because of the generosity of United Armenia Fund (UAF) since 1992; and Counterpart International (a subsidiary of the U.S. Dept of State) since 2005.

• We have received GIK donations from non-profit organizations such as Children’s Hunger Fund, Gleanings for the Hungry, Project C.U.R.E., and Hope for the City.
